Summer Concert Series

City of St. Helens, Oregon

A beloved community concert series completely rebranded and produced as a cohesive, 13-week waterfront experience featuring live music, local vendors, family activities, sponsor activations, and free summer entertainment.

REIMAGINING A BELOVED WATERFRONT TRADITION

Treadway Events partnered with the City of St. Helens to rebrand and produce 13 Nights on the River, a free weekly summer concert series held along the Columbia River waterfront.

Treadway developed a new visual identity and cohesive marketing direction for the series, then carried that brand through its advertising, promotional materials, sponsorship program, and on-site experience. Across 13 Thursday evenings from June through August, the reimagined series brought residents and visitors together for live music, local food, marketplace vendors, family activities, and a beer garden.

The result was more than a refreshed concert series. It was a recognizable civic event brand designed to strengthen community identity, increase awareness, support local businesses, provide meaningful sponsor visibility, and create sustained activity on the St. Helens waterfront.

STRATEGIC SOLUTIONS

CHALLENGE

13 Nights on the River was already a valued St. Helens summer tradition, but its presentation needed a clearer identity, stronger marketing presence, and a more cohesive guest experience.

The City needed to modernize the event without losing the community character that made it meaningful. The refreshed identity had to feel welcoming, energetic, and distinctly connected to summer on the Columbia River while working across digital advertising, printed materials, sponsor recognition, signage, and weekly event communications.

The event also presented a substantial operational challenge. Producing one successful community concert requires detailed planning. Producing a consistent, high-quality event every week for 13 consecutive weeks requires a repeatable system for managing talent, vendors, sponsors, staging, sound, beverage service, marketing, public communications, site logistics, parking, setup, event operations, and strike.

INSIGHT

Community traditions do not need to remain visually or operationally static to remain authentic. A thoughtful rebrand can preserve what residents love while making an event more recognizable, marketable, and valuable to sponsors, visitors, and community partners.

We approached 13 Nights on the River as both a public event and a civic brand. The visual identity needed to capture the energy of live music and the character of the waterfront, while the live experience needed to consistently deliver on the expectations created by that brand.

By connecting brand strategy, marketing, sponsorship, programming, and event operations, Treadway could transform 13 separate concerts into one cohesive summer experience.

SOLUTION

Treadway Events completely rebranded 13 Nights on the River, developing a refreshed visual identity and creative direction designed to make the series more distinctive, consistent, and recognizable throughout the community.

The new brand was extended across promotional graphics, printed collateral, digital advertising, event communications, sponsorship materials, and on-site applications. This created a unified public-facing identity while providing a flexible design system that could support 13 different performers and weekly promotional campaigns.

Treadway then brought that brand to life through full-season planning and event production. Each week featured a different live performance supported by food vendors, marketplace businesses, community organizations, family activities, and a beer garden.

Our team coordinated the complete series, including:

  • Event rebranding and creative direction
  • Visual identity and campaign development
  • Seasonal and weekly marketing materials
  • Talent sourcing, booking, and advancing
  • Vendor recruitment and communications
  • Sponsorship development and fulfillment
  • Stage, audio, and production coordination
  • Site planning and waterfront logistics
  • Beer garden and beverage operations
  • Event staffing and guest services
  • Weekly setup, show management, and strike
  • Coordination with City departments and community stakeholders

Treadway created a repeatable weekly operating model that allowed the series to remain consistent while adapting to different performers, vendors, weather conditions, attendance patterns, and community needs.

The sponsorship program was also integrated into the new identity rather than treated as an afterthought. Presenting sponsor Wauna Credit Union received season-long visibility through event branding, promotional materials, stage recognition, and on-site engagement, while additional community partners received customized visibility throughout the series.

RESULTS

The rebrand gave 13 Nights on the River a stronger and more cohesive public identity, unifying 13 individual concerts beneath one recognizable summer event brand.

The refreshed marketing system improved consistency across the season, strengthened sponsor integration, and made it easier to promote each weekly concert while continuing to build recognition for the overall series.

Across 13 Thursday evenings, the event created recurring opportunities for residents and visitors to gather on the waterfront, discover local food and marketplace vendors, connect with community organizations, engage with sponsors, and enjoy free live entertainment.

For the City of St. Helens, Treadway provided a single, accountable partner capable of connecting brand development, marketing, sponsorship, programming, and event operations. This reduced fragmentation and ensured that the experience promoted to the public matched the experience delivered on-site.

The result was more than a new logo or a summer concert schedule. Treadway transformed 13 Nights on the River into a cohesive civic event platform with a recognizable identity, professional operating structure, and foundation for continued growth.
